Science communication toolbox
As KIT researchers, you make an important contribution to current social debates such as the climate crisis, the energy supply of the future, sustainable and safe mobility or digitalisation as well as methods of artificial intelligence.
The dialogue with the public offers you the opportunity to share your knowledge with society and thus create a scientific basis for public discourse. The prerequisite for this is appealing, comprehensible and credible communication. We support you in this - with these information pages and in direct dialogue.
Suggest a topic
The contact point for KIT's central internal and external communication is the General Communication Department. The communications team plans current contributions for all central KIT channels and formats in a daily themed conference. This is based not least on the topics suggested by KIT employees.
How can I suggest a topic?
Please contact us if you would like to report on a current topic from your research. You can send us your suggestion via the online form for topic planning or by e-mail to themenplanung∂sts.kit.edu. Or simply contact us directly.
Which topics are suitable?
Are you wondering whether your topic is suitable for KIT's communication channels? Contact us at an early stage so that we can agree on the content and schedule. The following criteria can also help with the initial assessment of a topic:
- Is a specific, current occasion essential, e.g. current research results, such as an upcoming scientific publication, an imminent successful project completion or a contribution to a current social debate?
- Is it about an outstanding success, e.g. a scientific breakthrough or winning a prestigious competition?
- Does your topic describe something unusual or surprising, e.g. a research result that refutes an earlier thesis or a previously held assumption?
- Does your topic have a special relevance and "proximity" - for the everyday life of the general public or for the students or employees of KIT?
