Youth and Trainee Representation

The Youth and Trainee Representation (JAV) is the point of contact between the Staff Council and the trainees. It represents the interests of young employees under the age of 18, trainees in the company, and students of the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW) at KIT.

Staff Council

The KIT Staff Council has the task of representing the interests of KIT employees vis-à-vis the department and is subject to the provisions of the State Staff Representation Act of Baden-Württemberg. Among other things, it is responsible for concluding service agreements, ensuring that laws, ordinances, service agreements and other regulations are complied with and that all employees are treated equally in accordance with the law. It also advises professors, in particular on how to deal with employees, on the possibilities of upgrading employees or in conflict situations. The Staff Council is made up of 37 elected members from various areas of the North Campus and South Campus.

Representatives for Disabled Employees

The Representatives for Disabled Employees (SBV) is responsible for the employees of KIT and is elected every four years. It promotes the integration of severely disabled persons at KIT, represents their interests, and provides them with advice and support.
