The KIT Library is the central library of KIT. It provides information resources and services to KIT, the Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences and the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University (Karlsruhe), with a focus on the natural sciences, engineering and economics.

Its wide-ranging collection of over two million books, research reports and over 100,000 journals ensures the supply of literature for students and researchers at the various locations. Locations and About us
In the "Locations" section you will find the most important information on the individual locations; in "About us" you can find out more about opening hours, location and address, contact and organization as well as legal matters and fees. The library flyers (in German only) provide concise information on all areas and services of the library.

Search & Find
Under "Search & Find" you can find out which search tools (catalogs, databases, etc.) the KIT library offers and which are best suited for your search. The central reference tool is the KIT catalog.

Borrowing & Using Media
In the menu item "Borrowing & Using Media" you will find all essential information on setting up and managing your library account as well as on ordering and borrowing. After registering once, you can use your KIT-Card as a library card. LEA (in German only), the local electronic article delivery system, delivers articles from journals of the major KIT libraries free of charge. Literature not available on site can be obtained via interlibrary loan (in German only) for a processing fee. With reference libraries for KIT employees (in German only), the library offers an acquisition and delivery service for printed research and office literature. Lecturers can have semester collections (in German only) set up in the KIT library for courses.

Learning & Working
In the "Learning & Working" section, you will find general information on on-site learning and working options, on reference management programs and also on the Media Center, which advises lecturers on preparing their online lectures. You will also find information on infrastructures for digital teaching (in German only). Via the "OpenCast Recording Administration (OC-AV; in German only)" service, lecturers at KIT can plan, record, download and make their lectures available.

Research & Publishing
The menu item "Research & Publishing" provides information on the infrastructure and services of the KIT Library to support the research and publication process at KIT: in addition to general information on the obligation to register (in German only), on Open Access (in German only) and the publication options at KIT, you will find detailed information on KITopen, the central repository and publication portal of KIT, as well as on KIT Scientific Publishing, the specialist publishing house of KIT. The menu items Doctoral Theses at KIT, Publication Funds, Bibliometric Analyses and Research Data Management round off the topic.

E-Learning & Workshops
The KIT library offers a differentiated range of courses and consultation services. Information can be found on the homepage under E-Learning & Workshops. There you will also find individual consultation offers (in German only) and a list of your specialist contact persons, the subject librarians (in German only), as well as an overview of their services for researchers.
