lookKIT highlights in this issue digital transformation in various areas of research.
The HIGH-TOOL model developed by KIT, for instance, will help strategists of the European Union to quantitatively assess transport policy measures. It supplies reliable data on the benefits and environmental impacts of these actions for each country in Europe. An entirely different perspective on technological development is provided by the newly established KIT Institute of Technology Futures (ITZ). It will pursue interdisciplinary study of the relationships between technology, society, and culture as well as technology futures. Master’s students of geodetics and informatics attending the “Augmented Reality” lecture at the Institute of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing can experience how digitization long ago became part of academic education. They digitally dig in an analog sand box.
